  1. README.TXT FOR ATARIWORKS INVOICE TEMPLATES  7/29/93

  3. The Templates INV_FORM.STW and INVOICE.STS were created for my security
  4. electronics business.  They may be used with appropriate changes of
  5. letterhead and address for almost any business that uses standard forms
  6. for invoicing.  No great pains have been taken to "dress it up".  I
  7. think it looks just fine the way it is but feel free to make whatever
  8. changes you like.

  10. To use these templates copy them to your AtariWorks folder, start Works
  11. and OPEN the file INV_FORM.STW.  Input the invoice number, sold to, date
  12. and other data.  Use the cursor keys or mouse to navigate.  Do NOT use
  13. the RETURN key.  When the data fields are completed select OPEN under
  14. the File menu then select the spreadsheet icon and OPEN the file
  15. INVOICE.STS.  Using the down arrow on the slider bar get down to the
  16. entry marked TAX.  Select the D column immediately to its right and
  17. the formula for tax calulation will appear on the edit bar at the top
  18. of the screen.  Press the SPACEBAR one time, backspace over the default
  19. tax rate, enter the tax rate for your area and press RETURN.  Go back to
  20. cell A2 and begin enterring your data.  When you have finished data
  21. entry click on All Cells under the Select menu then click on Copy as
  22. Metafile under the Edit Menu.  Click on Activate Document under the
  23. Window menu and select INV_FORM.STW if not already selected and click
  24. on OK.  You will now be back to your invoice form.  Place your cursor
  25. on the second line below the Terms: field then click on Paste under the
  26. Edit menu.  Your invoice is now ready to be printed.  Adequate space
  27. has been left at the bottom of form to allow enterring "ORIGINAL",
  28. "Copy n of n" or your favorite threat.

  30. With AtariWorks we have a program with tremendous power.  When the
  31. powers in Sunnyvale release version 2.0 we may have a program that blows
  32. integrated packages on other platforms out of the water.  I also use
  33. GeoWorks 2.0 on the Messy DOS platform and can only say that AtariWorks
  34. is easier to use and faster on my 1040STE w/4mByte than GeoWorks is
  35. on my wife's 386SX-33 w/2mByte.  GeoWorks beats out AtariWorks on the
  36. number of functions it performs (it has a full on bitmap and vector
  37. graphics program) and its ability to perform as an operating environ-
  38. ment but can't match the ease of use I get with NeoDesk 3 and Atari-
  39. Works.  If Atari can add a good telecom function, an .IMG and .GEM
  40. graphics editor and an intelligent printer spooler to AtariWorks they
  41. will have a package that will make users of other platforms sit up
  42. and take notice.

  45. be improved or made even easier to use.
